Mosque, climbing a mineret, careening though the market on a bicycle rickshaw

We have been blessed with the most wonderful guide, Anita,  yesterday and today!  She is a deeply spiritual Hindu who knows and understands  the other religions of India. She has been a wealth of information, and wisdom at a level of meaning deeper than ritual.

Jama Masjid - the largest Mosque in India

With our guide, Anita, I was required to wear this garment but no head scarf.
This is all there is of the indoors of the mosque.  Building materials were in short supply so the great courtyard was built and is used for prayers.
We climbed to the top of the minaret!
First level before the real climb

That's where we were - at the top where the small windows are

The courtyard from the top of the minaret.

When we left the mosque a parade was ready to start

 Wholesale fruit market

Each street specialized in something - shoes, silver,  spices, wedding dresses etc
Electric wires can't be buried as there is no room underground.

Our guide, Anita, in bicycle rickshaw. We are behind her in ours. We rode through the warren of this large market each alley selling one product, shoes, bridal dresses,  cloth,  spices

This post is delayed as I tried to insert a video here of our ride which was probably about 2 miles up and down narrow lanes with people and other rickshaws.   It was a real version of "Mr. Toad's wild ride "at Disney World!  but more fun!

And that was just this morning!  We are back at our hotel for lunch, rest , and then out again.
