City of Joy, Boatride on the Gange (Ganga) , New Kolkata

This is our last day in Kolkata.
Howrah Bridge connects Kolkata with "City of Joy"
2,000,000 people walk across this bridge EVERY DAY!
it is a 2100 ft cantilever  bridge
Cars are not crowded but the walking lanes on each side are packed
Any who read "City of Joy"  a best seller in the '80's - this is it.  A less expensive place to live than Kolkata so millions cross to Kolkata for work each day.
 School buses take many forms
Ramakrishna said "To serve people is to serve God and so he distributed food, started educational institutions,   taught women and men.  The temple has aspects of many religions.

Kolkata - afternoon, Amazing Temple,

The American Consulate is on Ho Chi Minh Street!  Ironic.

Communists were in India from 1972 - 2012.

Our guide who is 78 has a wry sense of humor.   He tells us Hindu"s can't kill cows so they sell them to Muslims to kill.

I'm sorry for the poor quality.  This entire street is dedicated to musical instruments.  This is the shop of the best violin maker

This couple have been married 2 months. She still wears some of her wedding clothes
This local couple spoke English, jokes and all.
